Cost Oriented Humanoid Robots

چکیده

Currently there are three categories of humanoid robots available: Professional humanoid robots developed by large companies with a huge amount of research resources. They are expensive and not available on the market. Research humanoid robots: The robots in this category are usually prototypes developed by scientists to implement and test new ideas. Humanoid “Toy” robots: There are a lot of humanoid toy robots, mostly developed by small or medium sized companies, available on the market. Usually they have extremely limited capabilities in hardas well as in software. Because of these facts in this paper a new fourth category – cost oriented humanoid robots (COHR) are introduced. These robots will be able to support humans in everyday life e.g on the working place, in the household, in leisure and entertainment, and should be available on the market for a reasonable price.

Real-Time Visual Tracking and Identification for a Team of Homogeneous Humanoid Robots

The use of a team of humanoid robots to collaborate in completing a task is an increasingly important field of research. One of the challenges in achieving collaboration, is mutual identification and tracking of the robots. This work presents a real-time vision-based approach to the detection and tracking of robots of known appearance, based on the images captured by a stationary robot. A Histo...

PSO-Based Path Planning Algorithm for Humanoid Robots Considering Safety

In this paper we introduce an improvement in the path planning algorithm for the humanoid soccer playing robot which uses Ferguson splines and PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). The objective of the algorithm is to find a path through other playing robots to the ball, which should be as short as possible and also safe enough. Ferguson splines create preliminary paths using random generated para...

Cost Oriented Humanoid Robot Archie

Robotics can be regarded as a typical and representative part of Mechatronic, as a cutting edge technology in this rapidly expanding research field. Hence on the tree of robotic life, humanlike robots play a particularly valuable role. This Paper deals with design of cost oriented teen sized humanoid robot Archie. It describes the mechanical and electrical components and how action commands are...

Humanoids and personal robots: Design and experiments

This paper addresses the field of humanoid and personal robotics—its objectives, motivations, and technical problems. The approach described in the paper is based on the analysis of humanoid and personal robots as an evolution from industrial to advanced and service robotics driven by the need for helpful machines, as well as a synthesis of the dream of replicating humans. The first part of the...

Object-oriented dynamics modeling for simulation, optimization and control of walking robots

This paper shows how efficient object oriented dynamics modeling and optimal control techniques form the basis for generating optimal gaits for four-legged and biped robots. Dynamics of walking robots, dynamics algorithms and our object-oriented approach are shortly repeated as well as optimal control techniques. Numerical and experimental results for a four-legged and a humanoid robot are cited.
